Buick Regal GS debuts at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show
Buick is has been hard at work updating its image, appearing at the Detroit Auto Show, the Buick Regal GS is sporty sedan aimed directly at the Japanese and European auto makers. Bob Lutz- GM chairman states "The mission of the [ Buick Regal ] GS is to re-establish Buick as a purveyor of sport sedans that are, from a dynamic and fun-to-drive standpoint, at least at the level of the German and Japanese imports in the same category".
The Buick Regal GS is an all wheel drive 2.0 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine capable of 0 - 60 in under 6 seconds and is able to produce 255 horsepower and almost 300 lb-ft of torque. The Regal GS will also feature a changeable driver mode that is adjustable to "Normal", "Tour" and "Sport". Providing the driver the ability to tune the car to his or her liking.
The sport styled Regal GS is aggressively styled, and has a lowered stance with frontĀ ground effects, side skirts, intakes in the front of the car and a diffuser in the rear along with dual exhaust.
Buick really wants the Regal and Regal GS model more of a mainstream brand and to be an alternative to those seeking an import with similar sport styling and features.
